Instructor's Profile
Dr. Robert de Souza is the Executive Director and Chief Executive of The Logistics Institute - Asia Pacific (TLI-AP) since 2003. He is also a Senior Fellow at the National University of Singapore (NUS).
Dr. De Souza received his Ph.D., M.Sc. and B.Sc. Honours in the United Kingdom. He is a Chartered Engineer, member of several professional institutions and serves globally on multiple industry, government, and academic committees.
More notably, Dr. De Souza is the proud recipient of The Public Administration Medal (Bronze) by the President of the Republic of Singapore.
Dr. De Souza is a seasoned industrialist, academic and entrepreneur. His industry credentials include being an Executive Vice President for V3 Systems, a Corporate Senior Vice President and Global Chief Knowledge Officer at Viewlocity Inc. and Vice Chairman and Founder-CEO of SC21 Pte. Ltd. He also leads teams of academics in new initiatives and supports key ASEAN Universities in pioneering and delivering Humanitarian and Urban Logistics Research and Education.
Dr. De Souza has delivered keynotes at many global conferences and invited sessions and has authored and contributed to over 100 publications. He is also a member of the Editorial Boards of select international journals and co-editor of a special book series in Logistics published by Springer (over 20 books).”
Prof. Mark Goh is Director (Industry Research) of TLI-Asia Pacific and a Professor at the Department of Analytics and Operations at NUS Business School.
He holds a Ph.D. from the University of Adelaide under a postgraduate award, and is an alumnus of the global advisory council of the world economic forum
Prof. Goh was with APL Logistics in Supply Chain Solutions. He has sat on several committees, such as Board Member of the Chartered Institute of Transport (Singapore), past Chairman of the Academic Board of Examiners for the Singapore Institute of Purchasing and Materials Management, member of the Advisory Committee of the Transportation Resource Centre (NUS) and past Vice President of the ORSS, Associate Senior Fellow of the Institute of Southeast Asian Studies. He is a member of the Enabling Business Process Technical Committee.
He has held visiting appointments at Chulalongkorn University, Commonwealth Fellow (UK), Citibank International Fellow (USA), UMIST, Beijing University, Melbourne University, Universiti Sains Malaysia, Sun Yat-Sen University, Kaohsiung, King Mongkut University of Technology Thonburi, and professor at University of South Australia, RMIT University, and Edith Cowan.
Prof. Goh received his Pingat Bakti Setia. Academically, his H-index is 33 with an FWCI of 2.78.
A/Prof. Tan Kok Choon is Deputy Head of the Department of Analytics and Operations at NUS Business School.
He received his BSc (Hons) in Mathematics from National University of Singapore (NUS) and was awarded an NUS Overseas Post-Graduate Scholarship to pursue his PhD in Operations Research at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Operations Research Center.
He had prior appointments in The Logistics Institute – Asia Pacific, Department of Mathematics at NUS, Operations Planning Department at PSA Singapore, Group Technical and Operations Development at PSA International, and Singapore Land Transport Authority. While at PSA, he was Adjunct Associate Professor in Department of Industrial Systems Engineering & Management at NUS.
Prof Tan is currently President of the Operational Research Society of Singapore, Honorary Advisor to the Container Depot Association (Singapore), and a member of the Logistics Technical Committee under the Singapore Standards Council.
