Module EC0601: Managing Global Supply Chains

This module will introduce participants to the most current paradigm in Logistics/Supply Chain Management, and leads them towards developing and appreciating a strategic view of logistics operations and supply chain management.  Case studies will be incorporated in the modules.

 

Topics Outline

  • Overview of ECSCM Programme
     
  • Managing Logistics Operations: Strategic Vision I & II

The focus is on pursuing excellence in logistics and supply chain operations. Participants will be introduced to the most current paradigm in Logistics/Supply Chain Management. The International Quality Study (IQS) and Hayes-Wheelwright Framework (HWF) will be highlighted.

  • Customers’ Perspective of Logistics

The focus is on the Management of Logistics Operations from the customers’ perspective. A case study will be used as an example of a Customer’s Strategic Intent and how logistics play a role within this intent. 

  • Implementing Strategic Logistics Using the Balanced Scorecard Approach

The fundamental knowledge involved in the Balanced Scorecard (BSC), the use of the BSC in strategy implementation, the concept and design of strategy maps, and the common issues and pitfalls associated with BSC implementation will be highlighted.

  • Supply Chain Management Strategy (10-hour Online Segment)
    • Using 6-Sigma in Logistics

    • Fulfillment Fundamental – Network
    • Fulfillment Fundamental – Transportation
    • Fulfillment Fundamental – Warehousing
  • Supply Chain Financial & Metrics (5.5-hour Online Segment)

    • Supply Chain Performance Measurements
    • Fulfillment Fundamentals: Outcomes
    • Inventory Management Metrics and Classification
    • Impact of Supply Chain Performance on Shareholder’s Value Part 1
    • Impact of Supply Chain Performance on Shareholder’s Value Part 2

      Per module: SGD 2,500 per person
